This big, juicy Kenyan coffee comes to us from the Gachatha Farmers Cooperative Society, which supports active members, permanent staff, and seasonal workers. The average farmer cares for 300 trees on less than one hectare of land. The area that surrounds Gachatha is part of a delicate ecosystem, and as a result, processing techniques and environmental impact management systems have been put in place. This kind of small scale farming acknowledges and educates its people, enabling them to live and work alongside protected indigenous plant, bird, and animal species. This coffee brings together all the things we love about Kenyan coffee. We don’t know if we’ve had too many coffees or not quite enough, but somehow this coffee drinks mature and refined. It knows who it is and there’s comfort in that.

Juicy and sweet with tangy fruit acidity, bright green grape and lingering rich caramel

Located in the Alta Mogiana region, this coffee farm is within three different municipalities: Ibiraci, Cassia and Capetinga.

To create this micro-lot, Jean Vilheana left this coffee drying on the patio using the “Volcano” method, covering the cherries with a cloth overnight, for 27 days until the desired moisture levels were reached.

It’s not very often we come across Brazilian coffees with such pronounced fruit, we jumped straight on this. We hope you enjoy it!
